ViGo Bioenergy opens bio-LNG refuelling facility in Berlin
Berlin-based ViGo Bioenergy announced the opening of a bio-LNG refuelling facility in the Ludwigsfelde industrial estate in Berlin on May 22.
The station was unveiled in the presence of Berlin-Brandenburg MEPs Hildegard Bentele and Christian Ehler, Rene Reinert, the owner of Reinert Logistics, and ViGo Bioenergy's managing directors Christian Schneider and Martin Popp.
“By switching from fossil LNG to bio-LNG, not only industry, trade, and logistics will benefit, but the citizens of the region will also be happy, because trucks powered by bio-LNG are not only more environmentally friendly than those powered by diesel, but also significantly quieter,” said Bentele.
"With bio-LNG, negative emissions can even be generated by separating CO2 during the liquefaction process," said Schneider.
With 33 of its LNG stations, ViGo Bioenergy is one of Germany's largest bio-LNG filling station providers. Its biogas is produced exclusively from liquid manure and other residual materials.
