Vintage strikes gas at Vali-3 in Queensland

Sydney-listed Vintage Energy has hit gas at its Vali-3 well in Queensland's Cooper basin, it said on June 16.

The Vali-3 well was spudded on June 9 and is currently at 2,377 m in the top of the Toolachee formation. The primary objective of Vali-3 is to appraise the extent of the deeper Patchawarra formation gas accumulation discovered in Vali-1 ST1 and confirmed in Vali-2.

Vintage, Metgasco and Bridgeport are partners in the Vali project that is located in Queensland's Cooper basin. Vali was discovered in the Cooper/Eromanga basin in January 2020, when a well encountered a gas pay in Nappamerri, Toolachee and Patchawarra formations.
