Vitol to supply first LNG cargo to the Philippines
Vitol will supply the first LNG cargo to the Philippines in mid-April and this cargo will be used to cool down the floating storage unit (FSU) Ish and commission the first LNG terminal in Batangas Bay near Manila, the company said on April 3.
Vitol Asia, a supply and trading unit of Vitol Group, will supply this first LNG cargo to San Miguel Global Power in the Philippines from its global LNG portfolio. Vitol loaded this LNG cargo in Das Island, UAE, supplied under long term contract by its partner ADNOC, a few days ago on the 161,900 m3 LNG vessel Golar Glacier.

Singapore-based Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific (AG&P) last year announced the successful conversion of the 137,512 m3 LNG carrier called Ish into an FSU, which is part of the combined offshore-onshore import terminal that will have an initial capacity of 5mn metric tons/year. The hybrid LNG terminal is designed to provide its customers with resiliency of supply and high availability, even during storms.
In February 2022, AG&P signed a 15-year long-term charter agreement with ADNOC Logistics and Services for the supply, operations and maintenance of its FSU.
