Warsaw Voice: First shale gas mine in Poland in three years?
The government expects the first shale gas mine in Poland to be launched within 36 months, most likely in the north of the country, Treasury Minister Mikolaj Budzanowski has told the Rzeczpospolita daily.
The government expects PKN Orlen and PGNiG to start cooperating on shale gas projects with Canadian companies, two of which are already present in Poland, Budzanowski said.
He estimated that $150-200 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas is the profitability threshold for Polish shale gas extraction projects.
