Wayne-Sanderson Farms Partners with GreenGasUSA to produce RNG across US

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is partnering with GreenGasUSA to produce renewable natural gas (RNG) at a portfolio of its facilities across the US, GreenGasUSA announced on August 20. By leveraging existing wastewater treatment and biogas assets, the companies aim to bring pipeline-quality RNG to market.

Wayne-Sanderson plans to extend this partnership beyond the initial portfolio of facilities, developing additional RNG facilities at other poultry processing plants. With guidance from GreenGasUSA, Wayne-Sanderson will focus on locations with the greatest potential for reducing methane emissions and those capable of co-locating a liquid carbon dioxide recovery system.

GreenGasUSA has operational RNG facilities at agricultural and food processing sites nationwide. It currently operates five RNG facilities and one CO2 facility and is actively developing additional RNG and CO2 projects across the US.

In June this year, Texas-based Darling Ingredients announced plans to reduce emissions from its wastewater treatment plants at select rendering facilities by capturing biogas and converting it to RNG in partnership with GreenGasUSA.
