Standart News: Western and Asian Banks Interested in Financing South Stream

Well-informed sources told the Standart that some big West European and Asian banks had shown interest in financing the construction of the Bulgarian section of the South Stream natural gas pipeline. 

Several banks have already sent their representatives to Sofia to make an onsite check on the project and probe the opportunities for financing the project. 

A financial services provider from Asia has even sent a second team to Bulgaria, after receiving from the Bulgarian authorities a preliminary approval to participate in the tender procedures when the tender is invited.  MORE
