Woodside awards shore base contract for Trion project offshore Mexico
Woodside Energy, an Australia-based energy company, on December 20 announced the awarding of a contract to Mexican firm Eseasa Offshore for the supply of shore base facilities and services for the Trion oil and gas project offshore Mexico.
The contract outlines that Eseasa Offshore will provide a comprehensive range of services from its shore base location on the Panuco River coastline. The scope of work encompasses the establishment of shore base infrastructure, operations planning and management for vessel mooring, load and discharge activities, freight and material management, and the provision of dedicated laydown and staging areas.
The Trion project, located offshore Mexico, is set to be operated by Woodside with a 60% participating interest. PEMEX Exploración y Producción holds the remaining 40%. Woodside made a final investment decision to develop the Trion project in June this year.
The estimated total capital expenditure for the Trion project development is reported to be $7.2bn, with Woodside's share amounting to approximately $4.8bn.
