Woodside Begins Production at Pluto LNG
Woodside Petroleum has started production of liquefied natural gas at its Pluto LNG project in Karratha. Loading of the first cargo of LNG is expected soon.
Pluto is expected to contribute 17 to 21 million barrels of oil equivalent to Woodside’s 2012 production, in line with previous guidance. In steady-state production, Pluto is forecast to add a long-term average of about 37 million barrels of oil equivalent to Woodside’s annual volumes.
Pluto has faced multiple days which has resulted in a 26% increase in cost to A$14.9 billion.
