Work on Fourth Shaanxi-Beijing Gas Pipeline Begins

CNPC has commenced work on the fourth Shaanxi-Beijing natural gas pipeline, Xinhua Finance Agency reported Wednesday.

The pipeline project would be important in linking Central Asian gas and domestic gas transportation network. Fourth Shaanxi-Beijing gas pipeline will be 1,114 km in length and have capacity of 25 billion m3 / year.

In January last year, the third Shaanxi-Beijing natural gas pipeline's Liangxiang-Xishatun section became operational, adding supply of 20 million cubic meters of natural gas to for Beijing every day. This marked the full completion of the third Shaanxi-Beijing natural gas pipeline project.

The fourth line is expected to be operational by October 2017.
