Work on Indian Oil's First LNG Terminal to Start Soon
Work on Indian Oil Corp’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant at Ennore in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu is likely to commence by the end of this year, Reuters quoted company’s chairman R. S. Butola as saying.
The company is in process of tying up customers for the Ennore LNG terminal, which is likely to be ready in 2016/17, said its head of business development, A. M. K. Sinha, Reuters reported.
Reuters added that IOC is in talks with global firms including Russia's Gazprom to source gas for the Ennore plant.
IOC has also signed an initial deal with Dhamra Port Ltd to build a 5 million tonne/year LNG plant in eastern Orissa state, according to Reuters.
