Zeta Begins Drill Stem Testing at Bobocu-310
Eastern-Europe focused independent Zeta Petroleum has announced that it has cased its Bobocu-310 well in Romania and has commenced drill stem testing on the well.
Zeta, which spudded the Boboco-310 well in July, says that it expects the drill stem test (DST) to take about six days. The company had expected to begin drill stem testing earlier on the well but says that it encountered unforeseen equipment delays.
So far, Zeta has seen encouraging results on the Bobocu-310 well, which is targeting resources in a field where production has already been seen. Prior to Zeta's involvement in the field as the 100 per cent stakeholder, Romanian gas company Romgaz produced from the field for 18 years, up until 1995. However, due to what Zeta has described as a "poor understanding" of the field by Romgaz, further resources on the field had been overlooked. Zeta Petroleum now estimates that the field may have mean contingent resources of up to 44 billion cubic feet with a mean prospective resource of 14 billion cubic feet.
The drill stem testing will further operations already conducted at the well, which has shown gas shows at the Bobocu-310 well in multiple sands late last month.
