Zhangzhou LNG terminal in China starts operations

The Zhangzhou LNG receiving terminal in China officially began operations with the arrival of the commissioning cargo from Australia, state-owned PipeChina announced on May 22.

The terminal, with a capacity of 3mn tonnes/year, is the first newly built LNG receiving terminal to be put into operation in the country this year. The commissioning cargo was delivered by the LNG carrier Macoma from Australia on May 21. The terminal will supply regasified LNG to the provinces of Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and others.

The first phase of the Zhangzhou terminal includes three 160,000 m³ LNG storage tanks, an 80,000-270,000 m³ LNG dedicated loading and unloading terminal, four sets of high-pressure gasification transmission facilities, and 10 tank truck loading skids. The high-pressure gasification transmission capacity for the first phase is 18 million m³/day, and the tank truck loading and transmission capacity is 180 trucks/day.
