Baltic Course: Zygaiciai community asks Putin and Lukashenko for support against shale gas exploration

Zygaiciai community refused to participate in the meeting with the representatives of the Government, Chevron and scientists; instead of it the community addressed Russia's President Vladimir Putin and Belarus' President Alexander Lukashenko asking for their support against shale gas exploration in Taurage district, informs LETA/ELTA.

The representatives of the Government considered the reasons for the refusal of Zygaiciai community to attend the meeting. It turned out that the reason for it was the refusal of the Government to allow recording the meeting.

The meeting was supposed to give U.S. company Chevron and Zygaiciai community an opportunity to begin a civilized dialogue and to discuss the burning issues.  MORE
