AG&P receives commissioning cargo for Philippines LNG terminal
Singapore-based AG&P has received the commissioning cargo for its first and the Philippines' maiden LNG import terminal, it said on April 11 via a video update.
The LNG cargo was delivered on board the 162,000 m3 LNG carrier Golar Glacier. It was supplied by Vitol and will be used to cool down the floating storage unit (FSU) Ish and commission the first LNG terminal in Batangas Bay near Manila. The ship-to-ship LNG transfer operation started on April 8 between Golar Glacier and Ish.

Vitol Asia, a supply and trading unit of Vitol, will supply this first LNG cargo to San Miguel Global Power in the Philippines from its global LNG portfolio. Vitol loaded this LNG cargo in Das Island, UAE, supplied under long-term contract by its partner ADNOC.
The FSU Ish is part of the combined offshore/onshore terminal that will have an initial capacity of 5mn mt/yr and provide its customers with the resiliency of supply, even in storms.
The terminal will service the 2.5 GW power plants of San Miguel Global Power with additional demand of about 1.8mn mt/yr from upcoming power plants in Ilijan. In addition, AG&P plans to roll out and/or support a network of CNG stations to service transport demand as well as service demand from the industrial and domestic sectors with identified partners in the country, the company told NGW last month.
