China's CIMC Enric to supply cylinders for 1000 LNG trucks

China's CIMC Enric Holdings on March 27 said that its subsidiary, Zhangjiagang CIMC Sanctum Cryogenic Equipment Co., has secured a contract to supply LNG cylinders for 1,000 LNG-fuelled trucks meant for an undisclosed logistics company.

The LNG cylinders, boasting a cruising range of 3,500 km, are tailored to meet the demands of long-distance transport, significantly reducing refueling stops and enhancing overall transport efficiency, CIMIC said. Manufactured at CIMC Enric's newly launched production line, 100 sets have already been manufactured and delivered, with an annual production capacity of up to 100,000 LNG on-vehicle cylinders.

"The company remains committed to leveraging its technological advantages, promoting product upgrades, and driving technological innovation while enhancing production capacity. Looking ahead, CIMC Enric will collaborate closely with industry partners to foster the sustainable development of the LNG heavy-duty truck industry," Yang Xiaohu, president of CIMC Enric, said.

According to the company, in recent years, LNG heavy-duty trucks have gained prominence in the commercial vehicle sector due to their cost-effectiveness. With increasing demand for LNG heavy-duty trucks, CIMC Enric's LNG on-vehicle cylinder orders surged, reaching 1.285bn yuan ($0.18bn) in 2023, representing a 39-fold increase year-on-year.
