EBRD Appoints Green Business Head
The European Bank for Reconstruction & Development (EBRD) has appointed Harry Boyd-Carpenter as head of its green economy and climate action department, it said February 19. It said this was a "key position for the bank’s delivery of its goal to become a majority green bank by 2025."
In its new five-year strategy adopted in October 2020, the EBRD identified “supporting the transition to a green, low-carbon economy” as one of its key priorities.
In his new role, which he will take up on April 1, Boyd-Carpenter will be responsible for co-ordinating the green economy work and climate action agenda of the bank and contributing to further shaping the future of the EBRD’s Green Economy Transition. Boyd-Carpenter has worked at the bank since 2005, most recently as director of energy in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
