Egypt Looks to Import Gas, Announce Tender

Egypt is preparing to invite companies to tender for the import of between 1 and 1.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas daily, Bloomberg has reported citing a report in Al Mal newspaper reported.

Details of the tender are expected to available once the announcement is made either on Thursday or Friday, the newspaper reported.

Osama Kamal, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said the winner will be responsible for importing gas and supplying it to Egypt’s network, while the ministry will handle transporting the gas within the country.
