Eni to Retail Gas in France Under Own Brand
Eni has said today that it is set to enter France's retail market under its own brand, supplying gas to 500,000 residential retail customers.
Eni, which has already been supplying gas to the French retail market under the brand name Altergaz, said in a statement that it wished to become one of the "major players" in the French residential marketplace.
The company is already the second largest supplier in France, it said in a statement today, currently delivering about 14 per cent of the market overall (or 74 TWh). Eni first began supplying gas to France in 2003 but has been supplying the residential market through its own brand since October 1st.
As part of the expansion efforts, the company is launching four new retail products. These are: a 3-year fixed-price offer called Horizon; a 3-year fixed-price carbon-neutral option called Oxygène; a price plan which can be altered according to customers' preferred options known as Préférence; and a discounted tariff package called Essentiel.
Through these offers, the company aims to achieve a residential market share of half a million customers, about three times its current residential customer base in France.
