Georgia Moves Forward with Rehabilitation Works of National Pipeline
Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation is proceeding with its operations to improve the country's main gas pipeline, explaining that operations should be completed within 7 months.
‘Rehabilitation works of DN500 "Tsiteli Khidi-Marneuli" 25 km section of the main gas pipeline are performed at full-load by Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation and 30.8% of works have already been implemented,’ reads the note released by Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation on Wednesday.
The pipeline was built in 1978.
The works is part of a wider program in the country. Georgia is trying to increase reliability of the entire system.
Earlier this month, Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation completed another section of the pipeline. Building activities were funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
