Hysata opens new electrolyser manufacturing facility in Port Kembla
Hysata, an Australian electrolyser company, has opened its global headquarters and electrolyser manufacturing facility in Port Kembla in Queensland, it announced on August 14.
This move paves the way for the commercialisation of its electrolyser technology, set to transform green hydrogen production for challenging sectors like steel and heavy transport.
The Australian government, via the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, has granted A$20.9mn to support a 5 MW electrolyser unit demonstration near the Stanwell Power Station, with Stanwell Corporation contributing A$3mn. Hysata's CEO, Paul Barrett, sees this as a crucial step toward fulfilling their substantial pipeline of orders.
“Hysata’s new facility in Port Kembla signals the next phase of our scale-up journey. Our plan encompasses the construction of a 100 MW per annum production line, with commercial-scale units scheduled for delivery in 2025, including the 5 MW electrolyser unit for Stanwell’s project. And we will ramp up rapidly to giga scale capacity thereafter,” said Barrett.
