Ichthys LNG Project Ships 200th Cargo

The Ichthys LNG project operated by Japan's Inpex in Australia's Northern Territory shipped its 200th export cargo on September 20, Inpex said on September 23 on its LinkedIn page.

Inpex said that the Energy Advance vessel departed Darwin harbour with 145,000 m3 of LNG bound for Chiba, Japan. Since start-up, 345 cargoes have been exported to customers around the globe, including 54 LPG, 34 plant condensate and 57 field cargoes, it added.

The 8.9mn mt/yr Ichthys LNG started up in October 2018 and reached financial close in December 2019. Inpex serves as operator with a 62.25% stake, while France's Total has 26%. Other shareholders include the off-takers CPC Corp Taiwan (2.63%), Tokyo Gas (1.58%), Osaka Gas (1.2%), Kansai Electric Power (1.2%), Jera (0.74%) and Toho Gas (0.42%).
