Indian gas demand up 7% in Aug
India’s natural gas consumption in August came up 5.72bn m3, up 7.35% year/year, the latest data published by the country’s petroleum and natural gas ministry’s Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) showed. The consumption was up 7.3% month/month as well.
In the first five months of the financial year 2021-22, India’s gas consumption was 26.65bn m3, up from 24.26bn m3 in the same period of last year.

India’s gas production in August was 2.92bn m3, up 20.2% yr/yr, the PPAC data showed. Cumulative natural gas production during the first five months of the fiscal year was 13.98bn m3, up 19.94% yr/yr.
