India's LNG imports Rise 1% in Dec
India’s LNG imports in December came in at 2.78bn m3 (about 2mn metric tons), up 0.9% year/year, according to the latest data published by the Indian oil and gas ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC). Imports were down 3.8% month on month, however.
The country imported 24.75bn m3 of LNG during the April-December period, up 0.7% from a year earlier.

LNG imports in December cost some $700mn, down from $800mn in the same month last year. For the April-December period, the import bill was $5.1bn, down from $7.1bn a year earlier, the data showed.
Gas production in December was 2.42bn m3, down from 2.61bn m3. Cumulative output in April through December was 21.12bn m3, down from 23.82bn m3, PPAC said. Consumption in December came to 5.13bn m3, down 3% yr/yr.
