Indonesia’s Maleo Field Gas Output to Drop Next Year

 Gas outputn from the Maleo field in the Offshore Madura block, East Java, may see a decline of anywhere between 10 percent and 23 percent in 2012.

 The field managed by Santos (Madura Offshore) Pty Ltd., a subsidiary of Australian oil and gas company, Santos International, is projected to produce only up to 100 million cubic feet per day (mmscfd), lower than this year's production of 110 mmscfd.

Company official attribute the decline to the lower pressure of reservoir gas wells in the field.
