Iran Cancels London Conference
Iran has been forced to cancel the London event to unveil its new oil and gas contract models due to visa issues, reported state media outlet Shana.
The conference was slated to take place from February 22 to 24 in the British capital.
Shana, citing an official in the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), reported Saturday that only a small number of delegates were issued UK visas.
“There are many people from private sector who are interested to take part in the London conference but could not collect their visas because UK embassy in Tehran does not provide such services,” Ali Kardor, NIOC deputy managing director for investment and finance, told Shana.
The Iran Petroleum Contracts (IPC) conference in London was planned to be a follow-up to the Tehran event which took place on November 28-29.
