Iran Finds New Gas Field

Iran has discovered a large natural gas field in the northeastern part of the country, Mehr News Agency reported quoting Central Oilfields Company Managing Director Mehdi Fakour.

The details of the field would be announced by the National Iranian Oil Company, the news agency added citing Fakour. He also said that the exploratory study of the newly discovered gas field will continue until September 2013.

With 34 trillion cubic meters of natural gas reserves, Iran has the world’s second-largest natural gas reserves after Russia.
