Iran to Build First Gas Processing Plant

Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) has started designing and construction of the first national gas processing plant.

ICOFC’s managing director, Mehdi Fakour, said the gas needs of the plant would be provided by Halegan and Sefidbaghon gas fields which are being developed, Shan News Agency reported.  

The studies related to building the plant and development of two aforementioned gas fields is complete and the company waits to conclude a contract with Khatam- ol -Anbia Headquarters on the issue, Fakour said.   

Shana said that 12 wells are to be drilled in Halegan and Sefidbaghon gas fields with the aim of production of 20 million cubic meters of gas per day for processing by the plant, ICOFC’s top executive said after development of nearby  gas fields processing capacity of the gas plant will rise to 50 million cubic meters per day.  

The processing plant is expected to be built in three years.
