Mitsubishi Shipbuilding delivers LNG fuel system to Shin Kurushima Dockyard

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding, a unit of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), has delivered an LNG fuel gas supply system (FGSS) to Shin Kurushima Dockyard Co, MHI said on October 2

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding previously received and filled orders for FGSS units for two LNG-fuelled car carriers built by Shin Kurushima Dockyard between 2020 and 2022. Including those deliveries, a total of 26 FGSS units have been ordered from Japanese clients, and seven units have been delivered, MHI said.

MHI said that Mitsubishi Shipbuilding will provide FGSS units to a broad range of customers involved in the construction of LNG-fuelled vessels. Further, by helping to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through the widespread adoption of LNG-fuelled vessels, Mitsubishi Shipbuilding aims to further the decarbonisation of the marine industry, MHI added.
