PAKISTAN, RUSSIA AMEND GAS PIPE DEAL
Pakistan and Russia have signed a revised deal regarding the development of the North South Gas Pipeline, the Pakistani government said on November 18. The original inter-governmental deal was signed in 2015.

- The 1,100-km gas pipeline will link LNG terminals in the port of Karachi in the south of Pakistan with the city of Lahore in the north of the country.
LNG CANADA STRUCK BY COVID-19 OUTBREAK
BC’s Northern Health Authority (NHA) confirmed November 19 a Covid-19 outbreak at the Anglo-Dutch Shell-led LNG Canada project site at Kitimat, on the province’s northern coast.

Work on the LNG Canada project has already been set back by about nine months by Covid-19 measures implemented earlier this year by the BC government. It’s not known whether this outbreak will impact the project’s schedule.
HALLIBURTON TO SET SCIENCE-BASED EMISSIONS TARGETS
US oilfield services giant Halliburton announced it would set targets for reducing its greenhouse gas emissions in line with what the latest climate science estimates is necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Accord.
- Halliburton has submitted a commitment letter to the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi). It is joining over 1,000 global companies that have pledged emissions reduction targets under SBTi.
PETROCHINA TO HIKE WINTER GAS SUPPLIES
Chinese state PetroChina will increase gas supply in the domestic market during the winter season spanning from November 15 to March 15, its parent company CNPC said on November 19 in a statement.
- Sinopec, another state company, also plans to ramp up winter gas supplies by 5.3% yr/yr, it said earlier this week.
