Norway’s Gas Outage Worsens

The Nyhamma gas plant lost power from the grid, exacerbating Norway’s gas outage.

The plant processes gas from Royal Dutch Shell’s giant Ormen Lange field.

According to Reuters, the outage is now seen at 45 million cubic metres per day on Thursday, above the 35 million per day predicted earlier. 

The outage, which equals about 14% of Norway's peak production capacity, affected Norwegian gas exports.

Reduced Norwegian gas flows are impacting Italian and British gas prices.
