Nova Infrastructure, Nopetro team up for RNG in US

Nova Infrastructure, an investment firm, has partnered with Nopetro Energy to establish a renewable energy platform called Nopetro Renewables, it said on May 31. The platform will focus on renewable natural gas (RNG) and biofuels. As part of the partnership, Nopetro Renewables will construct one of Florida's first landfill-gas-to-RNG facilities in Vero Beach.

“Our joint venture will generate significant ESG benefits to all stakeholders, as both compressed natural gas (CNG) and RNG assets play a key role in reducing carbon emissions and facilitating the energy transition,” said Chris Beall, founder and managing partner of Nova Infrastructure.

Nopetro, founded in 2007, operates 16 CNG fuelling facilities in the southeast for government, waste, and industrial customers.

Nova Infrastructure recently closed its Infrastructure Fund I, raising $565mn from institutional investors. The investment in Nopetro marks the seventh platform investment for Nova as part of Fund I.
