Oman LNG Revenues Rise to Record
Oman LNG’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports touched a record $4.342 billion last year buoyed by higher prices and cost management, Oman Daily Observer reported. Oman LNG is country's main LNG producer.
Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas and Chairman of the Board of Directors, said rising international energy demand has had contributed to a modest spike in the price of LNG.
“In the coming years, our main task will be to give our utmost with prudent management and attention to the production and export of Oman’s natural gas, in such a way that enables the nation derive the fullest benefits of this resource for the sustained progress of the nation and its people,” Al Rumhy said, Oman Daily Observer reported.
In all, a total of 85 LNG cargoes were shipped from the two trains owned by Oman LNG at Sur, with sister company Qalhat LNG contributing an additional 46 cargoes during the year, the newspaper said.
A further 45 cargoes (totalling 251,468 tonnes) of natural gas liquids (NGLs) were also lifted from the Sur complex.
