Pakistan Petroleum makes gas, condensate discovery in Sindh province

Pakistan Petroleum (PPL) on November 20 announced a gas and condensate discovery at exploration well Jhim East X-1 in Shah Bandar in district Sujawal, Sindh province.

PPL operates the Shah Bandar block with 63% interest. Other partners are Mari Petroleum Company, Sindh Energy Holding Company and Government Holdings. This is the second gas discovery at the Shah Bandar block.

Jhim East X-1 well was spud on October 8 and drilled to a depth of 2,545 m. During testing of Lower Goru upper sand, the well flowed 13.69mn ft3/day of gas and 236 barrels/ day condensate.

“This discovery will add hydrocarbon reserves to reduce the gap between energy supply and demand,” PPL said.
