PTTEP Keen on LNG Blocks
Thailand’s PTT Exploration and Production is planning to invest in liquefied natural gas blocks that have sales contracts with its parent PTT and wants to acquire at least one LNG block this year.
The company is targeting shares in LNG projects from which PTT has to purchase gas in order to have a business advantage.
Meanwhile, company’s Bongkot South field will start feeding gas in March, while the Montara project in Australia, after a fire accident two years ago, will resume operation in either the second or third quarter of this year.
The company was waiting for the exploration results for Block M3, one of the petroleum blocks that was awarded to it by the Burmese government under concession. The block may produce good quality gas that can supplied to petrochemical plants.
