Qatar Says LNG Supplies to EU Conditional

Qatargas plans to continue supplying LNG to Europe, but deliveries are subject to diversions to higher paying markets like Asia.

The company said that cargoes will continue coming to Europe but most of this supply is divertible, which could occur under right market conditions.

Europe is the biggest destination for Qatargas supplies.

Absorption of available LNG supplies by Asian market would re-inforce increasing European dependence on pipeline gas, heightening the importance of development of the Southern Corridor to allow for Caspian supply.
