RIL May Shut KG D6 by 2015-16
A Reliance Industries led consortium may have to shut key gas producing fields in the KG D6 block in 2015-16, news reports reported India's oil secretary GC Chaturvedi as saying.
Along with RIL and BP, Niko Resources also has a 10% share in the D6 block in the Krishna Godavari basin. Output is apound 26 million standard cubic metres a day of gas from the D1 and D3 fields.
The full potential gas cannot to be produced because of geological complexities, the players told the government. The gas block has seen sharp decline in output in recent years.
