Platts: S Korea, Canada's British Columbia sign pact to jointly develop shale gas resources

South Korea's Ministry of Knowledge Economy, which is responsible for energy, industry and commerce, has signed a preliminary agreement with the energy ministry of British Columbia for joint development of shale gas resources in the Canadian west coast province, ministry officials said Tuesday.

Under the memorandum of understanding signed in Canada, British Columbia agreed to allow South Korean developers to join shale gas projects there and export more natural gas to South Korea, the ministry said in a statement.  MORE
