Strike hits gas at WE5 well in West Australia
Sydney-listed Strike Energy on June 21 said it had hit gas at its West Erregulla 5 (WE5) well at the onshore West Erregulla field in Western Australia.
The WE5 is the third of three appraisal wells in a planned campaign at West Erregulla, discovered in 2019. Strike operates the field with a 50% interest, while partner Warrego Energy also has 50%.

According to Strike, initial logs show the well encountered 183 m of the Kingia Sandstone, with a net pay of 32 m. It said the results are above the average across the various North Perth basin gas discoveries in Western Australia. The company will conduct additional wireline logging to procure fluid samples and pressures across the formations.
