TechnipFMC secures “substantial” contract offshore Brazil
French upstream services company TechnipFMC said June 30 it secured a contract to support production at the Buzios pre-salt oil and gas field off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
Calling it a “substantial” contract, in the range of $250-$500mn, TechnipFMC announced its contract with Brazilian energy company Petroleo Brasileiro, known also as Petrobras, extends to the deepwater Buzios 6-9 fields in the broader Santos basin.

Buzios, among the largest deepwater fields in the world, was discovered in 2010 and started production in early 2018. Jonathan Landes, the president of subsea operations at TechnipFMC, said support for Petrobras is an ongoing, but major, development for Brazil.
Components for subsea development, he added, are made in Brazil at facilities powered entirely by renewable energy.
Delivery is expected in the first quarter of 2023.
Elsewhere, US-based upstream services company Baker Hughes said it secured contracts to supply more than 300 km of flexible pipes at fields offshore Brazil.
“Baker Hughes flexible pipes will be used for a mix of production lines, gas injection flowlines, water injection lines, and services lines for pre- and post-salt subsea developments in Brazil,” the company explained.
Baker Hughes provided no financial or delivery details about its latest contract in Brazil.
