Madrid Willing to Facilitate Export of Iranian Gas to Europe
Iran and Spain have reached an agreement over supply gas to Europe, Fars News reported Monday.
Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh in a meeting with Spanish Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism José Manuel Soria López in Tehran on Sunday announced Madrid's preparedness to use Spain's LNG terminals to pave the ground for Tehran to enter Europe's gas market.
"Negotiations between Iran and Spain will continue in this regard," Zanganeh added.
According to Fars News, Deputy Managing-Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mohammadreza Ghaznavi earlier this month said that Europe is among the most eager entities to import Iranian gas.
However, Iranian officials have stressed that Tehran will give propriety to neighbours when it came to export of natural gas.
Last month Azerbaijan called for an increase in the volume of its gas swap with Iran to quench Europeans thirst for energy.
Without Iran’s partnership, Azerbaijan would be unable to supply long-term demands of the EU due to its sizeable resources, Fars News said.
