Pipeline exports to Mexico fell 7.5% in November compared to October, to 4.6bn ft3/day from 4.8bn ft3/day. Year-over-year, however, November exports were 3.9% higher than the 4.5bn ft3/day exported in November 2017 and 173% higher than the 1.7bn ft3/day exported in November 2013.

Mexico’s new President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, has said his country needs to reduce its dependence on US natural gas, focus more efforts on activities to produce more domestic gas domestically and relaunch production activities for the benefit of the country.
However, lower natural gas supply from Mexican fields continues to force Mexico to import volumes from the US to meet domestic demand.
