Sanctions Not to Affect Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline, Imports
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar reassured that Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline Project would be affected neither by sanction from UN nor from US and Islamabad intended to complete it as soon as possible.
She said that export of gas from Iran did not fall under the UN sanctions and gas imports would also remain unaffected.
Pakistan would do its best to meet its energy requirements and import gas from Iran and would complete the project as soon as possible, she said.
Sanctions have been mounting on Iran as European Union governments on Wednesday agreed in principle on banning Iranian oil imports and new U.S. sanctions target payments for the country's crude.
