TotalEnergies, QatarEnergy, Petronas land rights to offshore Brazilian licence
TotalEnergies, QatarEnergy and Malaysia's Petronas have won exploration rights to the Agua Marinha block in Brazil's offshore pre-salt Campos basin, the companies announced on December 19.
Agua Marinha spans 1,300 km2 of water, about 140 km from the coast. Brazil's Petrobras will operate the block licence with a 30% interest, while TotalEnergies will take 30%, QatarEnergy 20% and Petronas 20%.

The latest award comes after TotalEnergies landed rights to two other blocks, S-M-1815 and S-M-1711, in the south Santos basin earlier this year. The company produced just under 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent/day in Brazil in 2021, and expects its output to exceed 100,000 boe/d this year.
